Coconut Willy

Coconut Willie lives in a tree
Plenty pupule, easy to see
All the malihini think he's a king
They come to Waikiki to see his opu swing
His big fat opu swing!  :)

I used to dance hula to that song when I was a little kid, haha!

Bicycle Crash

The Honolulu Academy of Arts had an art show for all the famous artists in Hawaii, and there were a few open spots for new artists to enter.  Ryan's brother Reid got in!!!!  :)  That is a great accomplishment, and hopefully his art piece sells!

It's casted in bronze and it's called Bicycle Crash, priced at $1,800

It was hard to get a good picture...

Here are some other pieces that I really liked, I should've got the names of the artists, sorry!

This one was priced at $18,000!!!!!  This was the most expensive piece!  I think the artists name was Dave Young or David Young

Reid's friend made this bronze piece and won the Newcomer Award for it!  He said that the potato-looking thing with the pipe connected to it is filled with water and heated to produce steam that blows those spoons around, spinning the birds!  Really cool!  Too bad we couldn't see it in action!

Packed Weekend

Crowded at Kailua Beach.  Actually, it got 20 times more crowded after I took this picture.

Our destination: Flat Island (it's the flat looking thing)

We came prepared, 8 SUPs and 6 kayaks with 9 seats

My brother on a sweet ride at Publics.  I take great video yeah?  :)

Tandem SUPing?

Some shots from a secret spot...haha that rhymes!

Me (top) and Ryan (bottom) catching some great waves!

Ever tried night surfing?  It's illegal, don't try!  haha nah just joking!  We took a SUP board from Ryan's work place and tandemed!  It was the funnest thing ever!  I just sat in the front and held on, Ryan actually did all the paddling!  Thanks Ryan!  :)

Here's a video from last night!  It's actually kind of entertaining....there's one clip of us actually on a wave, but you can't really tell because it's so dark...  :)  Sorry about the poor quality...

Small Day at Kaisers...

There's a small little bump in town today, so me and Ryan decided to check out Kaiser's again, since yesterday was so much fun!  When we got there, it was so incredibly crowded!!!  Doesn't anyone work anymore?  I was only able to catch one wave there because all the guys were such wave hogs!  So Ryan suggested we paddle over to Rock Piles, which was a great idea!  I caught way more waves and the crowd there was super nice!  Thank you Ryan for letting me drop in on you, you're the best! <3

This is a shot of Rock Piles, pretty small day today!

I tried to zoom in and catch a good wave...I think I missed it...

This is what happens when you meet the reef, it says 'Hi' and then eats you.  That's what I get for surfing at low tide...hopefully I won't find coral growing in there!  :)

Ahoy!

irates of the Caribbean has been filming in Hawaii!  It's pretty exciting if you are a fan!  A lot of my friends went to go see Johnny Depp and the Black Pearl.  I would go but I really don't think it'd be that entertaining, maybe I'd be excited for like 10 minutes at the most....I'll wait to see the movie when it comes out!  Anyways, I thought the pictures of the Black Pearl were pretty cool (my friend has a cool camera), she makes the pictures look old!  So, I thought I'd post them!  She paid $17 to get up close to the boat on a tour, which is currently in Kane'ohe Bay right now  :)

I was surprised to find out that the Black Pearl is actually the Queen Anne's Revenge, cool huh!?

Tiare

Yesterday, I went with Ryan to the UH Manoa sailing center at Sand Island.  The boat, Tiare, needed some fixing and Ryan was hired to do it!  :)  What's really cool is that this boat was a donation!

Hot Summer Swell!

I've been surfing everyday!  Me and Ryan went surfing the other day, and I got barreled!!!!  It was huge out there!  Supposedly it was a high surf advisory, but it wasn't as big as they forecasted.  The waves were awesome, and we had the spot to ourselves for at least an hour!  :)  That spot is nice because even when all the other spots are small, this one still has some size!

I am also proud to say that me and Ryan were the very last ones to paddle in at Queen's last night!  :)  We surfed until the sun went down and then some!  I think we got in around 8:30 pm, it was pitch black!  There were three old guys out there (who think they own the spot) that stayed out past sunset too, but I wanted to outlast them, so we stayed!  And it was soooooooo gooooood!  Ryan got barreled on the inside twice!  I think we actually surf better at night!  Hahahaha we were throwing water all over the place!

I also, finally figured out which combination of sunblock to use so that my face doesn't get burnt when I surf in the middle of the day!
First I put on Neutrogena SPF 70, and then I put Vertra SPF 50 on top!  It makes me look like a ghost, sort of, but it works!!!!!

Yesterday, I started fixing my Doobie, my 5'4" quad.  It's the very first board I ever shaped and glassed, with the help of Ryan!  :)  I originally thought I only had to fix one spot, but as I inspected my board, I found 2 more!  Then, while I was curing the patches, I decided to take all the wax off the deck, and guess what I found?  Another ding!  So I had to fix four total, but now at least it's water tight!  :)  All I have to do now is sand and fill....but that can wait!  And after than, I want to fix all of my other boards that need ding repair, I think I have about three or four more......actually I can't remember which boards need fixing - how many boards do I have again?  I should go count them!

Here is the Doobie, my 5'4" quad, and one of my favoritest boards!  I custom drew the design of the tree on the deck!  :)  It's so beautiful!

First Week of Unemployment!

Not working is like a mini vacation for me, since I've always worked so much!  Now I get my days mixed up!

This is our new kitty, Miki, she's only 4 months old!  We found her at the no-kill shelter in Hahai'one.  Cute!

This is my cat, Nalu, sticking tongue at the camera!  It cracks me up every time!

I went surfing at a secret spot the other day with Ryan and the tide was so high!  I took me forever to capture the waves hitting the wall....Ryan actually took this picture, he's the real photographer!

My brother got baptised yesterday!!!!!!!  I'm so happy for him!  Here he is with Pastor Wayne Cordeiro, New Hope Christian Fellowship!
